List of Issues Submission on Family Law and Muslim Women’s Rights in Malaysia (2023)

In January 2023, Musawah, in collaboration with Sisters in Islam, submitted a Joint List of Issues Report on Malaysia to the CEDAW Committee for review during its 86th Pre-Session Working Group meeting. It outlines the  recommendations and suggestions for the List of Issues and Questions to be asked by the CEDAW Committee to Malaysia on the following issues:

1. زواج القاصرات
2. Discriminatory Family Law Provisions in Civil Law and Islamic Law
3. Conflicting Court Jurisdictions and Lack of Political Will.
