In May 2022, Musawah and Havle Women’s Association submitted a Joint Thematic Report on Turkey to the CEDAW Committee for review during the 82nd session. This report examines Turkey’s legal framework and practices that enforce de jure and de facto discrimination against women in the following areas: child, early, and forced marriage, and mandatory surname change in Turkey.
