Bina Shah's review on musawah advocate Asma Lamrabet's book, Women in the Qur'an: An Emancipatory Reading, focuses on the author's anger towards subjective patriarchy-based human interpretation of the Holy Qur'an and rejects the archetypes it generates.

Asma's arguments are based on the women in the Holy Qur'an, life chronicles of early Muslim women, and on verses of the Holy Qur'an.
